We both get into it and, although we don't actually pick up the phone and vote, we always have our favourites. Now I know Connie is just 6 years old and I don't intend to be mean, but who wants to listen to a small child sing?! They don't have the ability to control their voice or any of that musical jazz. Yes, it's cute, a sweet party trick at Christmas, but did anyone - Simon Cowell included - really think that this girl was going to become a star?! I hope (although think my hope is wasted) that Connie's parents kept her grounded and told her it's the taking part that counts. I have no doubts that Simon said he'd give her a contract merely to keep the little old dears and women who "coo" over babies happy. Who offers a 6 year old a 7 figure sum, talented or not?! But I must admit, it all makes for great TV and gives my boyfriend (a hairdresser) something to talk about with this clients the next day. I'll be watching Britain's Got Talent again at the weekend.... I'll try and guess which poor soul is going to have their hopes and dreams smashed by false promises....
